Major in Measurement‑Control Technology and Instrumentation(080301H)

The Major in Measurement‑Control Technology and Instrumentation evolved from the Optical Instrument Program founded at the university’s establishment in 1958. It was accredited as a National‑level Key Characteristic Construction Major in 2010. In 2011, it was selected as a Provincial‑level Characteristic Major Construction Site under Jilin Province’s 12th Five‑Year Plan and included in the Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Program. It was recognized as a Brand Major of Jilin Province in 2014. In 2019, it passed the Engineering Education Professional Accreditation and was approved as one of the first‑batch National First‑Class Undergraduate Program Construction Sites.

Supported by Instrument Science and Technology, a first‑level discipline authorized for doctoral degrees with a post‑doctoral research station, the discipline is a Key Superior Discipline of Institutions of Higher Education in Jilin Province under the 12th Five‑Year Plan and a Top‑priority Construction Discipline of Jilin Province. The major is equipped with high‑quality teaching and practical platforms including the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, the National Engineering Practice Education Center, and the Key Laboratory of Photoelectric Measurement‑Control and Optical Information Transmission Technology of the Ministry of Education. It has established cooperation with many well‑known domestic enterprises and maintains stable on‑campus and off‑campus internship bases.

The major enrolls 85 students annually under the “4+0” training model, with all academic activities completed at Changchun University of Science and Technology. Courses are jointly delivered by Chinese and Russian faculties. Courses taught by Chinese instructors are offered in Chinese and English, while courses undertaken by Russian instructors are entirely taught in English. Upon meeting the degree‑award requirements of both universities, students will obtain an undergraduate graduation certificate and Bachelor of Engineering degree certificate from Changchun University of Science and Technology, as well as bachelor’s graduation and degree certificates from ITMO University of Russia. The certificates issued by the two universities are identical to those awarded to regular students of the same major at each institution.

The major cultivates high‑quality, innovative and senior‑level specialized talents who meet the demands of national modernization and future social‑technological development. Achieving all‑round development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor education, graduates possess solid mathematical‑physical foundations, systematic professional knowledge, broad global vision and devotion to the motherland. They are competent in product design and development, technological R&D and management, and instrument engineering applications in optoelectronic instruments, optoelectronic manufacturing and other industries, serving aviation, aerospace, weaponry and optoelectronic industries.
